Matthew 28:19-20

Hi everyone! I'm Blaine, a recent college graduate and now a Compassion Go Rep. I want to start from the very beginning of my journey that has lead me to where I'm at now, so let's go back in time to March...

One day I was researching the Compassion International website for upcoming volunteer opportunities. At this point in time I had volunteered at three events and sponsored a Compassion child of my own. While on the page I discovered the Go Rep program- a program geared towards recent graduates that love the ministry of Compassion, love to travel, and want to help make a global impact in the fight against poverty. WAS THIS A DREAM COME TRUE? Up until this, I had been applying for Interior Design jobs and had a few interviews, but nothing that lead anywhere. I kept wondering why I hadn't had any luck and was going to graduate with a degree after five years and not have a job. Let me tell you, I have found the answer to my why.

I continued to pray about the Go Rep program and it wasn't leaving my mind. One day during class (whoops) I decided to apply. Later that day I received an email back to set up a time for a Zoom call. Fast forward to the day I had the call and it went great so I was moved forward to the second, more formal, interview. This also went really well and a week later I received a call that told me I was accepted! Lots of tears and thanks went up to the Lord that day!

So now what? Well in ten days I'll be leaving to travel the country for six months on the Compassion Experience tours. I'll be able to see the direct impact of my work through this time and get to see children released from poverty in Jesus' name. My first stop is Colorado for training, then Charlotte, and ending the month of July in Wisconsin! I am SO blessed with this opportunity of a lifetime. Although it's going to be real tough to leave my loved ones and best friends, I'll still get to come home and visit and I'm already looking forward to that. Will you keep me, the other Go Reps, and all the children needing sponsors in your prayers, loved ones? Prayers for safe travels, strong relationships, and many children getting sponsored. I realized I didn't go into depth a lot on who Compassion International is and their mission, so I encourage you to visit their website and learn more about them!
